Resveratrol: the magic ingredient in red wine that makes you live longer

American 60 Minutes featured a story tonight on Resveratrol, a naturally occurring component of red wine that may extend human life.
“If the promise holds true, I think this has the chance to change healthcare,” Dr. Christoph Westphal tells 60 minutes correspondent Morley Safer.
Dr. Westphal says we all may soon be taking a drug that just might beat the clock, a simple pill that could delay the inevitable. “Our goal is to prevent and forestall many of the diseases that strike us as we reach 50, 60, and 70. All with one pill.”
Here’s the Resveratrol clip. The second scientist featured, David Sinclair, Professor of Pathology and Co-Director of the Paul F. Glenn Laboratories for the Biological Mechanisms of Aging at Harvard Medical School, and yes, he’s Australian.
If Resveratrol isn’t available at your local pharmacy in pill form, but there’s always the alternative: drinking a couple of glasses of red wine daily

I don't understand why they are saying it's not available. I'm selling resveratrol now!
It is slightly expensive for someone who doesn't really need it. However, if you have aches and pains, diabetic, arthritis, and a whole slue of other problems, then it's price doesn't matter. It works and that's all that matters.

I too am selling this product for only $50 per month. Go to pubmed.gov and search resveratrol and you will see nearly 2600 scientific findings of resveratrol having remarkable effects on Parkinsons, Alzheimers, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injured patients and many others. Resveratrol is not just for aging or impaired. Researchers have shown that resveratrol can double the endurance of mice in lab tests. The NY Times did an article on this. This is an awesome alternative to harmful performance enhancing drugs for athletes.
Contact me at clapperd@comcast.net if you want to try it for yourself.

Resveratrol can help you to lead a long and healthy life so says many
doctors. Red wine alone does not supply enough resveratrol to achieve the
full range of benefits because one glass of red wine has only about
1mg of resveratrol and you need about 250mg/day. You need to take
high potency resveratrol supplements to achieve the results documented
in scientific studies.Resveratrol Supplements can also help you control
your weight naturally by increasing energy, reducing cravings, and limiting
your appetite.According to Wikipedia, Consumer Lab, an independent dietary
supplement and over the counter products evaluation organization,
published a report on 13 November 2007 on the popular resveratrol
supplements. The organization reported that there exists a wide range
in quality, dose, and price among the 13 resveratrol products
evaluated. The actual amount of resveratrol contained in the
different brands range from 2.2mg for Revatrol, which claimed to have
400mg of “Red Wine Grape Complex”, to 500mg for Biotivia.com Transmax,
which is consistent with the amount claimed on the product's label.
Prices per 100mg of resveratrol ranged from less than $.30 for
products made by Biotivia.com, jarrow, and country life, to a high of
$45.27 for the Revatrol brand.

Resveratrol is actually for low-cost to produce. Manufacturers are just using a grape extract in their supplement bottles.
These other commenters are definitely a little over-priced
.

Resveratrol!!

Type your comment here.I was introduced to Resvantage Canine by the breeder of my ridgeback because I was seeing a decline in his performance due to his hip displaysia. I have gone the glucosamine route to no avail. Resveratrol is a much better anti-inflammatory and with it you get a host of other benefits because it is also a anti cancer agent as well as antioxidant. I like the broad based therapeutic range this gives my boy Devlin, instead of the single purpose supplements.
In any event, Dev has a ton more energy and I can tell he is ailing much less if at all because once again I'm having a hard time keeping up with him. I didn't know much about resveratrol at the time that I was told about it but having seen the results, I'm a firm believer and I think there's good science here. So much so that I got on the Resvantage (human) supplement and I'm in the same baot as Dev. Feeling good and protected.
Good luck!

Resveratrol has been shown to reduce tumor incidence in animals and recent evidence from animal studies suggests this anti-inflammatory compound may be an effective chemopreventive agent in three stages of the cancer process: initiation, promotion and progression.
RESVANTAGE CANINE is a resveratrol supplement specifically formulated for dogs with 5mgs of resveratrol blended with other essential nutrients for canine health needs. I am giving my Boxers this supplement on a daily basis as the breed has been prone to cancer.
I have lost two Scottie dogs already to cancer but later in their life and would like to have known about resveratrol back then. This time, I'm on it earlier; at 2 years old with Topper.
