Jennifer Lawrence Talks Having Herpes, Crashes Woody Harrelson’s ‘SNL’ Monologue, And Sings A Christmas Song [Video]

Jennifer Lawrence recently said something that might scare actors away from wanting to play her love interests in future movies.

According to MTV News, J-Law decided that a great way to promote Mocking Jay – Part 1 was by joking about catching herpes while filming the previous Hunger Games movies. Jennifer Lawrence made the movies’ kissing scenes seem a little less romantic by blurting out her herpes confession at the the London press day for Mockingjay, and costars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson played along by also admitting that they suffer from lip sores.

“We don’t know where it started,” Lawrence revealed. “All of us claim it wasn’t us.”

After joking about her crusty lip for a bit, Jennifer Lawrence quickly switched gears and got serious about cold sores.

“Sorry, herpes is not a joke, it’s a disease that ravages the world.”

Before the interviewer moved on, Liam Hemsworth quickly reassured all his potential future lovers that he doesn’t actually have herpes.

During the interview, Jennifer Lawrence also talked about singing “The Hanging Tree” in Mockingjay. She revealed that she really hates trying to carry a tune.

“I’ve never sang in front of anyone or people, I don’t like that. That was a terrible day for me.”

According to People, the Oscar-winning actress also brought up her fear of singing during her recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Jennifer made sure Hollywood knows that she’s not interested in wearing a prosthetic nose and starring in a Barbara Streisand biopic.

“I do not like singing in front of other people. It’s like my biggest fear. I cried on set that day and apparently I’m crying all the time. That was awful.”

However, J-Law wasn’t too traumatized by the experience — she actually belted out a few bars of “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” with Dave. It’s safe to say that she won’t be releasing a Christmas song album anytime soon.

You’d think no one would ask Jennifer Lawrence to sing ever again after that, but Woody Harrelson actually begged his Mockingjay costar to serenade the crowd on Saturday Night Live.

Woody Harrelson was hosting SNL for the first time since 1989, which just happens to be the year that Taylor Swift chose to name her latest album after. Because Taylor only experienced the tail end of ’89 as a tiny baby, Harrelson decided to sing a song about what really went on that year. He couldn’t remember who was president, but he could remember that Michael Keaton was Batman. He also sang about rocking a mullet, starring on Cheers, doing cocaine, and drinking a million beers.

Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth surprised the SNL crowd by joining Harrelson and revealing what the actor told them about 1989: the Kool-Aid man tore down the Berlin wall and Einstein invented wi-fi. This is when Jennifer Lawrence waltzed onstage to steal the show.

Woody mistook his costar for Taylor Swift (one of Katniss’ favorite singers), and he asked her to help him sing his nostalgic song. However, J-Law reminded everyone that she sounds like a deer that’s been caught in a fence whenever she tries to carry a tune. She then proceeded to completely botch a Wood Harrelson impression instead.

If this whole movie thing doesn’t work for Jennifer Lawrence, hopefully her backup plan doesn’t include releasing an album or joining a sketch comedy TV series.
