People’s Choice Awards: ‘Mom’ Stars Anna Faris, Allison Janney Announced As Hosts

People’s Choice Awards has announced the hosts for their annual event! According to the Associated Press, the awards ceremony, which will take place on January 7, 2015, will welcome CBS Mom stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney as hosts.

Mark Burnett, the executive producer of the ceremony, released a statement about the picks for the co-hosts.

Of Allison Janney and Anna Faris, Burnett said, “We are thrilled to have Anna and Allison as hosts of our show. Our job is to entertain our audience, and these actresses have such chemistry and comedic timing that no matter who wins, everyone will be having fun.”

Avid watchers of the People’s Choice Awards seem to be thrilled as well. Here’s some of the responses over the Mom co-hosts.

As far as the nominees go, the Inquisitr reported that singer Sam Smith leads the pack with four nominations. Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars actress Shailene Woodley also has four nominations to her name.

Smith is nominated for Favorite Breakout Artist, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, and Favorite Song for his smash hit “Stay With Me.” As for Shailene Woodley, she’s nominated twice in the same category for Favorite Movie Duo with Ansel Elgort and Theo James for Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars, respectively. Additionally, she’s nominated for Favorite Action Movie Actress and Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress.

Out of all the award shows, this is the only one of the season geared towards the fans, which means that fans will cast votes and the winners are a direct reflection of the fan ballots.

So far, our bet is that Shailene Woodley will clean up in most of her categories, and so will Sam Smith, since they both resonate with younger demographics, which tend to vote more than any other group.

Who do you think will take home the prize?
