Bailee Madison: Teen Star Of ‘Northpole’ Appears Poised For A Hollywood Breakout

Bailee Madison is a star on the rise.

The teen actress, who appeared in one of the first holiday movies of the season, has been steadily increasing her stature in Hollywood, and appears to be joining the ranks of the top up-and-coming young actors.

Madison, who is known for her roles in Bridge to Terabithia and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, is set to appear in the Hallmark Channel’s holiday movie Northpole. The 15-year-old actress plays an elf trying to help the world stop and appreciate the joy of Christmas.

The movie premieres November 15, part of the channel’s lineup of a dozen new holiday movies.

The job is the latest for an actress who has already been working in the industry for more than a decade. Madison got into acting with help from her mother, who appeared in a number of commercials herself.

“My mom got me into some commercials, and I basically, I guess, just got out of my shell I was in at the time because I can’t remember,” Madison said. “I’ve just been blessed ever since.”

Bailee Madison already has quite a big Hollywood resume and has shared the screen with many big stars. When she was just 11, Bailee was featured in the movie Brothers opposite Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman, and Jake Gyllenhaal. The following year, she starred in Conviction with Hilary Swank and Minnie Driver.

She also branched out into television, appearing on the series Trophy Wife as Hillary Harrison and on The Fosters as Sophia Quinn.

Bailee has also made an impact beyond the big screen. In 2011, Variety honored Bailee for her philanthropic efforts at its Power of Youth Awards. The young actress has devoted much of her time to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an organization that encourages children nationwide to run lemonade stands to raise money to fight childhood cancer research.

“Something my mom and I have always said to each other is: ‘We’re not here for interviews. We’re not here to get your picture taken. We’re here to make a difference, and this is our opportunity to,'” Madison said.

Bailee Madison has a chance to continue her Hollywood breakout next year. She has just signed on to appear in the upcoming television series The Good Witch.
