Prince William Denies Throne At Kate’s Request: Another Ridiculous Rumor

As if the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, isn’t dealing with enough by battling with her severe morning sickness from carrying Prince William’s baby, she recently had to endure rumors that she and Prince William were having serious arguments, to the point Kate had moved back in with her parents.

Now the latest story in the gossip wagon is that Kate Middleton is asking her Prince Hubby to take a pass on the becoming the King of England, according to the Examiner.

In order to nip this rumor in the bud, the International Business Times states facts regarding laws concerning who inherits the throne.

“In the UK, succession is governed by the Act of Union 1800, which restates the provisions of the Act of Settlement 1701 and the Bill of Rights (1689). Following this, Prince Charles is bound to be king once his mother, Queen Elizabeth, abdicates or gives up the throne. Prince William can only become King or have any right to the throne if Prince Charles passes the throne to him.”

Prince Charles is not likely to pass on the opportunity to become King when he’s waited and prepared for that role most of his adult life. And according to the Examiner, steps have already taken place as early as January to make the transition from Queen Elizabeth to Prince Charles.

Noticeable changes, according to the Examiner, began when Prince Charles’ staff relocated within Buckingham Palace, merging with the Queen’s staff. Also, Prince Charles’ aide “became the media chief for the entire Royal household.”

In the November 10 issue of Globe Magazine, it stated, “Prince William stunned the Royal Family by revealing that he’s giving up the throne for the love of his beautiful wife, Kate.” The report continues to say,”William has officially informed Her Majesty that the pressures of royal life and raising a family at the same time have become too much for his pregnant wife. He has reluctantly made the decision to step aside.”

This report does not line up with British laws, which, as revealed by the International Business Times, states that once Queen Elizabeth retires, Prince Charles is next in line to become the King.

It is not a matter of choice, or decided by a mere change of heart by Prince William or anyone else.

“The line of succession is set by judicial precedent in English common law and can only be altered by Act of Parliament,” as revealed by the International Business Times.

As for Prince William and Kate, they are extremely happy, and Kate is actually feeling much better these days. In fact, Us Weekly reports that the couple, along with their 14-month-old son, Prince George, have escaped to Scotland for a romantic getaway.
