12-Year-Old Lorde’s Cover Of ‘Use Somebody’ By Kings Of Leon Leaked Online

Lorde has found yet another way to impress and surprise her biggest fans and also some of her most skeptical critics!

However, this surprise actually came years before her hit song, “Royals,” was ever written.

Five years ago, when the Grammy Award-winning artist was only 12-years-old, she performed an acoustic cover of the hit song, “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon during a visit to a local radio station in Auckland, New Zealand, her hometown.

This audio clip was originally posted on YouTube over a year ago by the Lorde Updates YouTube channel. However, it recently started trending again and has reached over 690,000 views as of right now.

There is nothing special about the production of this clip – no harmonies, sound effects or high-tech instrumentation mixed into the recording. All that you will hear is a 12-year-old girl with an amazing voice that women three times her age and higher wish they had.

Perhaps many of Lorde’s listeners back then knew that one day she would be a star. When you take a moment to think about just how far Lorde has come in the past five years since she performed this cover on the radio station, even the most skeptical of critics has to be impressed.
