Long Island Couple Tied Up, Terrorized By Home Invaders Disguised As Trick-Or-Treaters

A Long Island couple was tied up and terrorized on Halloween night when a group of people they thought were trick-or-treaters instead stormed in and tied them up while ransacking the home.

The incident happened in Nassau County at close to 9 p.m. on Halloween night. Police said three adults in masks knocked on the door of a Farmingdale couple, who were home with their 2-year-old son at the time. A 34-year-old woman answered the door, allowing the home invaders to force their way in.

Police said the burglars ordered the woman’s 48-year-old husband to sit down, and when he refused the suspect repeatedly pistol whipped him, leaving deep gashes on the man’s head.

The invaders then bound the Long Island couple with duct tape while two more people entered the home and began stealing valuables.

As the burglars ransacked the home, the woman was able to break free and take her young son to a neighbor’s home, where she called 911.

By the time police arrived the home invaders had fled, and the woman’s husband was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries. Police did not say what was stolen during the home invasion or why the Long Island couple was targeted.

Police said one of the home invaders wore a werewolf mask, while a woman wore goggles. They also released rough descriptions of the suspects (via ABC 7 News):

— Male black, 5’8?tall, 200 pounds with a white mask and dark clothes.
— Male black, 5’9? tall, 180 pounds with a werewolf mask, black clothes and armed with a handgun
— Female black, 5’8? tall with a thin build, afro hair and wearing goggles.
— Male, possibly white, 5’9? tall, 200 pounds, armed with a handgun.
— Male black wearing a wool hat and a mask.

Police have not released the names of the Long Island couple terrorized on Halloween. They are also looking for information about the group, and are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-244-TIPS.
