Ellen DeGeneres Denies Missing Charity Gala After ‘Epic’ Fight With Portia De Rossi, But Divorce Rumors Persist

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are once again facing divorce rumors, and once again the comedian and talk show host is switching into public denial mode.

The couple has faced seemingly endless rumors that they are headed for a split, with past reports focusing on Ellen’s controlling ways and possible affairs. But Ellen was always quick to deny the rumors, saying she and Portia are very much in love and not facing any marital woes.

That is the case with the latest reports, which claim that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi got into an “epic” fight on their way to a charity gala for the animal organization Saving Spot! and ended up skipping the event entirely.

Page Six reported yesterday that on their way to the Saving SPOT! fundraiser at Tiato in Santa Monica, they got into a fight about something or other, which escalated into a full-blown row that was so severe that DeGeneres and de Rossi turned the car around and headed back home.

A source told the New York Post’s Page Six, “Ellen and Portia were supposed to be at the event at 5 p.m., but at 6:30 p.m., the media was still waiting for their arrival. Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren’t going to make it due to ‘logistics.'”

Now Ellen claims that she and Portia never planned to attend a gala, something she said organizers knew all along.

On Monday, reports surfaced claiming that the couple got into a huge fight on the way to a Sunday fundraising event and never showed up, much to the disappointment of guests. However, a rep for the pair tells us they didn’t cancel. In fact, they were never on their way to the charity bash in the first place.

“We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend. This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading,” Ellen and Portia told E! News in a statement.

It seems that no matter how many times they deny reports, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi just can’t escape the divorce rumors.
