History of Rap 3: Fallon and Timberlake Team Up for One More Hip Hop Duet [Video]

Justin Timerblake returned to the set of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night, which, of course, meant the return of “The History of Rap.” Fallon and Timberlake, with a little help from The Roots, performed “The History of Rap 3,” which included songs from Run DMC, LL Cool J, and Kanye West.

Fallon started to introduce Justin Timberlake, who was appearing on the show to promote his new movie, “In Time,” but before he could finish the introduction, the talk show host said “screw it,” picked up a mic, and joined Timerblake at center stage.

Here is “The History of Rap 1 and 2.”

The new “History of Rap” included songs from LL Cool J, De La Soul, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Young MC, Naughty By Nature, Ice Cube, The Beastie Boy, Kanye West, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, J.J. Fad, Onyx, Coolio, The Fugees, OutKast, and Nicki Minaj. If you have a Spotify account, you can see the full playlist and listen to all 18 songs featured in “The History of Rap 3.”

Fallon and Timberlake did another rendition earlier this year.

Do you think “The History of Rap 3” lived up to its predecessors? Are Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake starting to wear this sketch out? Or are you waiting for “The History of Rap 4?”
