‘Vampire Diaries’: Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed Talking Marriage — What About Nina Dobrev?

Is Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder talking marriage with his girlfriend Nikki Reed? Hollywood Life reports that Ian and Nikki are getting close and falling in love, which means wedding bells could be next. Sorry, Nina Dobrev!

However, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are taking things slow, and not letting their love get in the way of making smart decisions.

“They both also know how they want their relationship to go and an engagement is not in the cards anytime soon. They are having fun falling in love and not allowing marriage talk to come into their current relationship success.”

Although Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed seem to be having a blast living together in Atlanta, where The Vampire Diaries films, there is one big hurdle in their relationship, and that Ian’s ex-girlfriend and co-star Nina Dobrev.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev met when they were cast as Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert on the popular CW series, The Vampire Diaries. The pair began dating, and had a relationship which lasted longer than two years.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, producers warned Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev that a romantic relationship was not a good idea because it could interfere with work, but the love birds didn’t care. After they split in 2013, the stars tried their best to be professional on set as well as friends off set.

Ian and Nina’s friendship seemed to be working, and Nina had even been romantically linked to Liam Hemsworth and Orlando Bloom, but then Somerhalder began dating Dobev’s friend, Nikki Reed.

Nikki Reed was hot off a divorce from her former American Idol husband, Paul MacDonald, and seemingly fell hard for The Vampire Diaries star, which left Nina Dobrev feeling uncomfortable.

To make matters worse, Ian Somerhalder moved Nikki Reed to Atlanta with him, and the Twilight actress is said to be causing some serious tension and drama on The Vampire Diaries set, which has Nina Dobrev considering quitting the show after this season.

Things have allegedly gotten so bad on set that producers are trying to ban Nikki Reed from making any appearances which may distract Nina Dobrev, or make her uncomfortable. However, Ian Somerhalder may be upset that his girlfriend, whom he obviously adores, is being shunned from his place of employment.

Fans are now worried that Ian Somerhalder and/or Nina Dobrev will not continue their contracts with the show and leave The Vampire Diaries for good after Season 6, which is currently airing on the CW.

It would be a shame to see a wildly popular show be killed all because two of the leads couldn’t get over their break up, and have significant others causing drama on set.

If other couples could split and still work together, (Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray on One Tree Hill) then is there any reason Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev can’t work something out?
