Chord Overstreet’s ‘Glee’ Return Confirmed

Chord Overstreet- the Glee hottie who makes you feel like a filthy old lady by his mere appearance on screen on the high school musical drama with his fancy blonde hair and sexy lips- will be returning to the show, it has been confirmed.

Overstreet, who plays New Directions semi-newbie Sam Evans, said not too long ago that he’d been offered a less-steady recurring role on the drama, but declined the shaky deal in favor of working on music. The news was disappointing to fans, but perhaps not surprising after buzz that many of the core cast would be moving on from the show in coming seasons. However, creator Ryan Murphy tells Gleeks that Overstreet is definitely back on the show and that no one is more excited than Murphy himself:

“We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back… So here’s an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks – Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!”

Overstreet’s Sam was originally written out of current storylines when his character’s father became unemployed and the family ended up in a hotel before moving out of state. Glee executive producer Brad Falchuck says that people behind Glee were displeased at Overstreet’s initial brush-off, but there are good things planned for his return:

“We did invite him back for a portion of the season, to see if being a regular was a possibility. But he declined the offer, which we were really disappointed by. We wanted him back because we like Chord personally and had some good stories planned for him and with Mercedes.”

Are you glad to see Overstreet return?
