News Blooper: Cat Wanders Onto Set During Weather Forecast

Joerg Kachelmann Weatherman CatNews bloopers are always fun, and this one has a particularly unusual twist.

You’ve probably seen the now-infamous clip of a roach crawling near one weatherman during his forecast. This time, it was a cat that somehow made it into the weather set — but unlike the roach guy, this weatherman didn’t miss a beat.

The man’s name is Joerg Kachelmann, and he’s apparently one of Germany’s most known meteorologists.

Kachelmann told Reuters he wasn’t sure how the cat got into the studio.

“I noticed him when he rubbed against my leg and thought people might wonder what was happening,” he said. “I figured it would be easier to control the cat by picking him up. Cats get annoyed if they feel ignored. So I made sure he didn’t feel ignored.”

It’d be interesting to know what, if anything, he said while grabbing the animal. Anyone speak German?

  3. I have a very basic understanding of German.

I'm fairly sure it was something along the lines of “One of the studio cats has come into the set..”

Apart from that though he didn't miss a beat.

(Oh and facebook connect isn't working properly either.. Can someone look at and fix?)

    it roughly translates to

“our studio cat is also around illegaly, but i'll keep it here… can you still hear me? yes, ok.”

At the end of the forecast he wishes all german cats a thick fur, since the night temperature goes down to -13°C (8°F)

  6. He said “This is the cat of our broadcast studio, which now is here without permission”. The cat left someones home and kachelmann + his staff now take care for this cat, because its very cold outside.

  7. He says: “…cold temperatures during the night. And our studio-cat is also here right now, althought it is actually not allowed to. But I'm keeping it here – do you still hear me? Yes, we keep the microphone clear…..it's staying quite cold during the nights and the cats hopefully have a thick skin.”
