Giuliana Rancic On The Future Of ‘Fashion Police’: ‘They Are Looking At Different Scenarios’

Giuliana Rancic recently came forward about the future of the hit E! TV series Fashion Police, as well as how she is dealing with the aftermath of Joan Rivers’ death.

When asked about the future of Fashion Police, Rancic confirmed that whether they will move forward with the show “has yet to be determined,” according to Us Weekly.

“They are looking at different scenarios. A lot of that will be up to [Melissa] and how she’s feeling and how she decides what she wants to do, along with the execs here at E!”

As for right now, Giuliana Rancic is concerned mostly about Melissa, and is determined to focus on being there for her longtime friend in her time of need.

Later in the same interview, Giuliana stated just how she personally feels about returning to the set of Fashion Police, and moving forward with the show.

“A part of me is like Joan would want…the team to go on and I know she would, but it’s just a matter of can there be a show without Joan? Do we want to do a Fashion Police without Joan? I don’t know.”

Both Giuliana Rancic and Melissa Rivers have been working together closely to develop the televised special Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan, which is scheduled to air Friday night. According to E! Online, an all-day marathon of Fashion Police was scheduled for Friday that would lead up to the televised special.

The mere fact that Joan Rivers is no longer alive is still a major shock for Giuliana Rancic to deal with — especially when she shows up to work each day. In her own words, Giuliana feels that hearing the confirmation of Joan’s death was “the shock of a lifetime.”

“I had just seen Joan 48 hours before her procedure… She was honestly better than ever and she even looked better than ever at 81.”

Joan Rivers stopped breathing during an outpatient procedure involving her vocal cords on August 28. After a series of complications, including a medically-induced coma, Rivers died a week later.

Giuliana Rancic and Joan Rivers worked closely together on Fashion Police since 2009, alongside co-hosts George Kotsiopoulos and Kelly Osbourne. Even when the cameras were not running, Giuliana maintained a close relationship with the Rivers family, which is exactly why it is hard for Giuliana (and so many others) to accept the fact that Joan is gone. In one of her closing statements during the interview, Giuliana Rancic stated that “Joan really was larger than life.”

According to the responses and reactions posted on Twitter, she was definitely not the only person that felt that way.

What do you think? Should Melissa Rivers and Giuliana Rancic focus on continuing Fashion Police or lay the show to rest in honor of the late Joan Rivers?
