$1.5 million or give me my kidney back
That’s a hellva demand to see show up in a divorce I gotta admit but such is the case in the divorce between New York vascular surgeon Richard Batista and his wife Dawnell. the back story to this is that back in 2001 Dawnell went into renal failure and Batista offered up his kidney in order to save her life
"She was my wife. My priority was to save her life, save her life and future of our children and hopefully with that in mind keep the marriage alive," Dr. Batista said.
Batista said he was one of only 700,000 whose kidney was a match.
"When I donated … the next day on my feet going down hallway to visit her in adjoining room, there was no greater feeling on this planet as God is my witness, felt I could put my arm around Jesus Christ," Batista said. "[It was] unbelievable. I was walking on a cloud. I did the right thing for her to this day. I could still do it again."

Well it turns out that at some point after that heart warming story Dawnell ended up having an affair and set the good doctor packing from the matrimonial home. So here we are today with the doctor wanting either the kidney returned (WTF!) or payment of $1.5 million for saving her life.
