Jennifer Aniston To Win Her Very First Oscar?

Jennifer Aniston has done it all. The former Friends star has made a name for herself in Hollywood, appearing in memorable films like Marley and Me and We’re The Millers. However, there is something disturbingly lacking from Aniston’s colorful career. She hasn’t had much prestige in terms of awards. Yes, she has won several Teen’s Choice and MTV Movie Awards, but that’s kindergarten stuff compared to the big ones. Jennifer hasn’t won an Oscar, and while she didn’t really make enough good movies in the past years to earn the trophy, Aniston has been an industry player long enough to at least be considered for one.

However, things might be on its track towards change. Jennifer Aniston’s recent lead in her drama film Cake, is generating Oscar buzz, and a few months from now, the actress’ name might actually be called on stage to receive the award. Aniston plays a character who experiences chronic pain and joins a support group because of her condition. According to Deadline, Jennifer received a standing ovation for the role when Cake rolled the credits at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Jennifer Aniston’s role in the movie was described as career-changing, with most critics on the internet giving it a thumbs up after screenings were done at the prestigious film fest. During the film’s post-screening Q and A, Aniston revealed a few details about the making of the film.

“It was a no-brainer. Just reading Patrick [Tobin’s] script I actually saw myself doing it. I just felt like it was already happening and it was pretty easy to say ‘yes.’ It was such a beautiful, complex, layered, tortured character. I just tapped into something I was meant to do.”

Anna Kendrick, who played a character on Cake, were all praises for Aniston’s performance.

“She is next-level incredible in this. To be honest, while we were making the movie I just wanted to shout from the rooftops how incredible she was on set, and what an extraordinary performance she was giving. She just brought it every day.”

According to the Detroit Free Press, there is a chance Cake will enter the Oscar race this year. Jennifer Aniston’s performance, which was amazingly different from her usual roles, was honestly surprising and pleasantly refreshing – at least for first-hand viewers who saw Jennifer do his magic.

In other news, now that the Friends reunion on Jimmy Kimmel has reached the 14 million mark on YouTube, fans are asking if a movie version is actually in the works. Although most members of the cast have leaned towards the negative when talking about the reunion, people remain hopeful that Jennifer and the gang will reconsider getting back together for “The One With The Movie”.

Jennifer Aniston will reprise her role as Dr. Julia Harris on Horrible Bosses 2, set to open on theaters this year.
