‘RHOA’ Star NeNe Leakes Stands Up In Fight Against Cancer: ‘You Are Not Alone’

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes may have been a housewife, an occasional actress, and a former stripper when she joined the Bravo franchise a couple of years back, but NeNe has really used her platform from Bravo to grow her career into something amazing.

Not only has she been filming two additional shows in Hollywood, including Glee and The New Normal, but NeNe Leakes has also been working on her own clothing line, doing Dancing with the Stars and scheduling in appearances whenever possible. And now, NeNe is lending her name to something that is very important to her.

According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes used her fame recently to spread the word about cancer. NeNe attended the annual Stand Up to Cancer fundraising telecast and was joined by other famous Bravo faces, including Melissa Gorga from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Other celebrities included Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Melissa McCarthy, Steve Carell, Sofia Vergara, and Joe Manganiello, to name a few.

“It’s important to stand up to cancer to give people hope and understanding that they are not alone in this battle,” NeNe Leakes said of her presence at the show.

Earlier this week, NeNe Leakes announced that she will be working in New York for a couple of weeks. She announced that she will be working on Broadway, playing the wicked stepmother Madame in the Broadway version of Cinderella, which will run through until January of next year. Fans are eager to head to New York to see her perform. She may temporarily relocate to New York during this time.

And even though NeNe Leakes continues to dominate in other television and theatre productions, she will most likely return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Rumor has it she has already been filming for the upcoming season.

NeNe Leakes has often expressed frustrations with her co-stars, especially when it comes to continuing on with the show, according to The Inquisitr. However, she doesn’t seem too eager to drop the show these days since Glee and The New Normal didn’t prove to be lucrative sources of income for Leakes. And with the Bravo show, she can promote her upcoming clothing line and any new business ventures she may throw herself into.
