Duchess Kate Incognito: Duchess, Duke Of Cambridge Blend In At King’s Cross

Seeing Duchess Kate incognito is not something you’d expect, but it’s true. Kate Middleton never fails to intrigue, and this time she’s done it in a royal-less way.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tried to blend in with the commoners on Friday, and they almost got away with it had it not been for the rather large blokes — you know the body guards — who looked like they were keeping watch over someone important.

William and Kate, with their pooch Lupo, boarded a train full of unsuspecting commuters who went about their day preoccupied with chatter, social media-sharing and typical things one does when aboard public transportation.

However, it didn’t take long for the Duchess Kate and William‘s incognito plans to be bumbled when riders noticed them, after a series of double-takes, of course, citing a report by The SpreadIt. After all, it’s not everyday that one gets a chance to share a tram, bus or other means of conveyance with Royals.

Looking as charming as ever, Kate opted for a frugal and casual style disguise, as not to blow her cover. She sported a cap, checkered shirt, blue denims and a brown jacket. The Duke, who looked like a yuppie commuter, wore a hat like his wife and casual wear. He looked like he did on a recent trip from Memphis when he flew Coach.

The sighting of the Royal couple didn’t result in an all-out stampede, thanks to their pledge in keeping life simple, and opulence at bay. More importantly, the mystique of Kate Middleton and Prince William tends to imbue a sense of normalcy.

On the day of Duchess Kate’s incognito outing, she and Will had just returned from their country residence in Norfolk. And with Williams’ military obligations — he is embarking on training as a helicopter ambulance commander — they are likely trying to balance work with their personal lives.

This job will be the Duke’s primary occupation but his roster will take into account the duties and responsibilities he will continue to undertake on behalf of The Queen, both in the United Kingdom and overseas,” according to a statement released by Kensington Palace.

Because the Duchess and Duke do not lead in any official capacity, they are often compared to American A-lister couples like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who recently got married after a long courtship.

Can you imagine boarding a commuter train with Brad or Angelina? Heck, love them or hate them, even the thought of sitting next to Kanye West or Kim Kardashian on a bus is a bit intriguing, would you say?
