‘American Horror Story’ Characters Revealed: Angela Bassett Is A Three-Breasted Woman, Lea Michele Might Join Cast

American Horror Story: Freak Show has finally provided a first look at the performers who will awe and amaze audiences this fall, and it’s safe to say that Angela Bassett’s three-breasted woman is going to steal the show.

The Hollywood Reporter recently shared a piece of cast art that features many of the American Horror Story: Freak Show characters. Kathy Bates is pictured as Bearded Woman Effil Darling, and it looks like Michael Chiklis and Evan Peters will both be playing strongmen named Wendell Del Toredo and Jimmy Darling, respectively. Emma Roberts might be playing a contortionist who can cram her body into a cage, and there’s an extremely tall character pictured who could be Wes Bentley.

The American Horror Story: Freak Show poster also includes an unidentifiable female sword swallower, acrobats, and a male little person.

Sarah Paulson’s conjoined twin characters, Bette and Dot Tattler, take center stage, as does Jessica Lange’s Ethel Mars. It appears as though the woman running the freak show doesn’t have any arms, but perhaps Lange’s limbs are just hidden by her feather boa.

Denis O’Hare’s character looks pretty normal, and it was already revealed why this is—according to Vulture, he’s going to be playing a collector of freaks rather than an actually freak. Frances Conroy’s character also doesn’t look like she belongs on American Horror Story: Freak Show, but maybe she’s hiding a ton of tattoos under those stockings and white gloves.

Then there’s Angela Bassett’s beautiful character. Ryan Murphy must be a Total Recall fan—he obviously based the three-breasted woman she’s playing on the legendary three-breasted prostitute from the sci-fi movie. As The Inquisitr previously reported, Angela Bassett will be playing the wife of Michael Chiklis’ strongman character. Kathy Bates’ character is his ex, and Evan Peters plays their son.

Other cast members include Gabourey Sidibe, Finn Wittrock, Patti LaBelle, and world’s smallest living woman, Jyoti Amge. John Carroll Lynch will be playing the season’s villain, a “Killer Clown,” and The Normal Heart star Matt Bomer will also make a guest appearance.

According to Entertainment Weekly, American Horror Story: Freak Show recently unveiled another teaser. However, it doesn’t feature any of the freaks from the poster—instead it shows a three-legged woman swinging high up in the air.

If Ryan Murphy wants a three-legged woman to join Jessica Lange’s “troupe of curiosities,” perhaps he’ll offer the role to Lea Michele. According to Christian Today, there are rumors that the Glee actress might join the season 4 cast.

The characters might look unusual, but don’t expect season 4 of American Horror Story to be a silly side show. Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that it’s going to be creepy and disturbing.

“It’s darker than Coven; it feels very unique. I directed the first one and I haven’t done that since the very first one of season one. It feels like a Douglas Sirk movie; it’s very 1952 presentational and then the horror is an unexpected jab. As opposed to last year, which was crazy camera work and comedy. This year feels different.”
