Rachel Zoe Debuts Collection at NY Fashion Week

Stylist to the stars turned designer Rachel Zoe has debuted her second season of clothing at New York Fashion Week, following up from her well-selling Rachel Zoe Collection for fall.

Zoe was well-known among celebrity gossip fans even before she starred in the Bravo hit the Rachel Zoe Project, styling celebrities including Mischa Barton, Brenda Song, Lindsay Lohan, and Keira Knightley. The stylist is credited along with prominent early client Nicole Richie with reviving the “Boho Chic” look, a style that also helped popularize skinny jeans. Although she has no formal fashion education, Zoe shot to prominence along with the look and Richie, and eventually landed the 2008 show on Bravo.

Of the style she creates, Zoe said:

“My inspiration is really very simple… It’s Brigitte Bardot, South of France, late 60s, early 70s, kind of running around – super glamorous – not trying to be, she just is.”

Zoe was then asked which was harder- giving birth to her son Skyler or doing Fashion Week. She responded:

“Both equally scary for totally different reasons… I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was hard, but it’s so much easier than I thought it would be. The baby just adds so much life to your life that it makes everything easier in a way.”

However, Zoe admits it was a bit difficult to adjust to having a boy- she wanted a girl- and she says she cried for several weeks as she adjusted to the news. Currently, Zoe styles Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Debra Messing, Liv Tyler, Demi Moore, Molly Sims, Eva Mendes, and Anne Hathaway, and the Rachel Zoe Project can be seen on Bravo Tuesdays at 10PM.
