Will Axl Rose And Slash Hook Up For Guns N’ Roses Reunion?

Slash — birth name Saul Hudson — opened up recently in an interview with the Ottawa Citizen when he spoke about the likelihood, or, more to the point, non-likelihood, of a Guns N’ Roses reunion at some point in the future.

Sadly, according to Slash no such reunion is on the cards right now; thus future generations will not enjoy hearing such hits as Sweet Child Of Mine, November Rain or Patience live.

We’ll let Slash do the talking as he made the idea of a Guns N’ Roses sound very unlikely:

“I have a lot less distractions – a lot less, at least, unnecessary distractions – in the situation that I’m in now. What I intended to do from the get go was never really that complicated. But success and money and all that kind of stuff, it just makes life complicated.”

Not many lines to read between there, we think, as Slash said himself, “(life is just) complicated.”

What is clear is the fact that Slash’s roots are very much based in rock, an industry in which he was raised since a young age.

The Citizen goes on to discuss life for Slash, the way they see it: “He’s been called a rock and roll purist, perhaps a euphemism for an aging axeman’s place in a shifting music landscape. But Saul Hudson, a.k.a. Slash, grew up in this industry.”

But Slash is no puppet, and as he has aged has made responsible decisions, both in his career and his private life. Slash went on to discuss the fact that, to his mind, the only people still obsessed with Guns N’ Roses are the media:

“Really the only people that obsess about Guns n’ Roses is media. I think it’s just lack of imagination. I’m an in-the-moment person. I don’t look too far in the future and I definitely don’t draw on past stuff. Whatever it is that you’re doing right this second, just do that and do the best you can at it. And just keep pushing forward, always forward.”

So is a Guns N’ Roses reunion ever gonna happen? In our lifetime? The lifetime of our kids?

The answer to that remains to be seen while many old school Guns N’ Roses fans remain hopeful that it will.
