Why Do Cats Do This? We Don’t Know, But ‘This Cats Knocking Things Over’ Video Is Hilarious

Cats love knocking things over. Anyone who has a cat companion can confirm that fact. But why? We all know that cats are basically crazy, but what do they get out of knocking the salt shaker off the kitchen counter? Or wapping your favorite framed photos off the bookshelf?

To be honest, we have no idea. But we do know that this compilation video of cats knocking things over is pretty funny. At least, if you have a cat, it’s pretty funny.

So why do cats pull this stunt over and over again? You probably think your cat is doing this just to drive you insane. But here’s what Jackson Galaxy, the cat behavior specialist from the Animal Planet reality show My Cat From Hell, has to say about this pressing issue of the day:

“Your cat is curious, not purposefully aggravating. And, depending on how you look at it, bored! Think about a toddler who has been given crayons, but no paper. Hello, bedroom wall mural! Ask yourself, ‘Do we have enough cat toys?’ If the answer is yes, would he still rather bat a cup off the table? If so, it’s time to get new toys!”

So there you have it. Next time your cat tosses an expensive piece of china to the floor, remember — he (or she) is just a kitty doing what comes naturally. Want to change your cat? Change yourself.
