Portia De Rossi ‘Scandal’: Actress Books New Gig Amid Ellen DeGeneres Divorce Rumors
There’s a new Portia de Rossi scandal making headlines, but this one has nothing to do with her marriage to Ellen DeGeneres. It seems Portia has landed a new acting gig, and Scandal fans are intrigued by this one. What does Shonda Rhimes have in store for de Rossi?
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been in the headlines for months regarding the state of their marriage. They’ve been hounded by rumors regarding divorce, rehab, addiction and affairs, and lately they haven’t commenting on any of the rumors or reported issues. Now, however, DeGeneres is taking to Twitter to share one scandalous tidbit.
DeGeneres tweeted, “So annoying when people brag on twitter & that’s why I’m not tweeting that Portia just signed on to do a top secret arc on Scandal. Oops.” TVLine says they have confirmed Portia de Rossi’s Scandal booking, but so far no other details have been revealed. Shonda Rhimes has shared a few season 4 Scandal spoilers already, but of course she hasn’t detailed anything too specific.
Just what does Rhimes have in store for de Rossi’s character? With this show, goodness only knows. Fans were left with some big developments in the season 3 finale, and there are big things ahead for season 4. Will Portia somehow join the White House staff or The Gladiators? Will she be a client of Olivia’s, assuming Pope heads back to OPA, or will she be stirring up trouble somehow? Fans of Portia’s can’t wait to find out just what this “top secret arc” is, but it already sounds tantalizing.
So far neither Portia or Shonda have commented online about the new role, but ABC is confirming to outlets that the deal is in place and Shonda did retweet Ellen’s original tweet about de Rossi doing the show. As for the personal drama supposedly taking place between Ellen and Portia, at this point they seem determined to present a united front. Despite the rumors swirling, and the stories seem to get wilder by the day, the two apparently are focused on work projects and their private relationship. Even the tabloids claiming there is trouble in the marriage seemingly indicate that both Portia and Ellen are working on their relationship and intend to stay together at this point.
