Age Of Ultron Spoilers: Five Things We Learned From The Fully Revealed Avengers Poster

Marvel has given us a full look at the mega-poster for next summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it is a beaut. Being the nerds we are, though, we just had to pick apart every aspect of the poster to see just what we could divine about next year’s inevitable smash hit.

Avengers: Age of Ultron won’t hit theaters until May of next year, but Marvel is looking to push the hype for the Avengers sequel to a fever pitch. The House of Ideas took the opportunity at Comicon this week to release a series of interconnected posters showing Earth’s Mightiest Heroes fighting an army of Ultrons. It’s concept art and likely not exactly representative of what we can expect from next summer’s Avengers movie, but we’re betting we can still glean some important tidbits from the concept art. Chief among these is the fact that:

Hawkeye in Avengers Age of Ultron concept art.

Hawkeye Will Be Having a Bad Time

Take a look at Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye in the lower right hand portion of the poster. Out of all of the Avengers shown in the Ultron battle, Hawkeye appears to be struggling the most. Sure, they’ve got the Hulk in a headlock, but Hulk is the strongest one there is, so he can handle himself. Hawkeye, though seems overwhelmed, and the Avengers’ archer doesn’t appear to be having any effect on the Ultrons. Look throughout the picture, and you’ll see Ultrons with Hawkeye’s arrows piercing assorted parts of their bodies. Do any of them look like they’ve slowed down at all? Nope. Meanwhile, the opposite appears to be true for some others.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Avengers age of Ultron

Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch Are Going to Steal the Show

While Hawkeye is overwhelmed, the Scarlet Witch appears to be more than capable of handling herself. The poster shows her chaos magic powers in full effect, apparently slicing open the head of one of the Ultrons with ease.

Quicksilver, meanwhile, is all over the place, and the benefits of his super speed are also on display. The Avengers’ “miracle” speedster is shown slicing through the arm of one Ultron and tossing around a number of others as he zooms through the picture. We’re betting that Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch will be the real standouts for Age of Ultron, as their powers will likely translate really well to the screen. That doesn’t mean they’re going to be the only ones with cool scenes, though.

Black Widow in Avengers age of Ultron

Black Widow Is Going to Kick Major Butt

You see all that glowy electricity stuff around Black Widow’s hands? Yeah, she’ll be packing something more than a nine millimetere and some leg takedowns for Age of Ultron. Those gauntlets pack quite an electrical punch, so you’re likely to see her putting them to great use against the Avengers’ next villain.

The Vision in Avengers Age of Ultron

The Vision Will Probably Be Above It All

Paul Bettany, who has provided the voice of Jarvis so far in the Avengers franchise, has confirmed that he will be playing The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. What we’re not sure about quite yet is just how the Vision will manifest on screen. Bettany has confirmed, though, that Vision’s power set from the comics will make the transition. He will be able to alter his density, which is probably why we see him floating above it all in the concept art.

Avengers in a bit of a pickle in the Age of Ultron

Ultron Will Give The Avengers More Than They Can Handle

Look at that scene. The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, and even Thor are completely overwhelmed. Tony Stark has created a monster in the form of Ultron, a distributed artificial intelligence that can take control of any number of technologies. Ultron is an army that fights with one mind, and it’s going to take everything the Avengers have got in order to take him down.
