Adam Richman Is Back On Television Tonight After Travel Channel Canceled ‘Man Finds Food’

Adam Richman landed himself a new television gig after The Travel Channel canceled the premiere of his new show Man Finds Food. The network made the decision to pull Richman’s new show after some Twitter controversy. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Richman wrote a tweet using the hashtag “thinspiration.” His comment got the attention of another Twitter user who said that his comments were pro-anorexia and pro-bulimia, but that was not what got Richman in trouble.

It was his response:

“Grab a razor blade and draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you.”

Within days, Richman posted an update on Facebook about his new Travel Channel show getting pulled. Man Finds Food was supposed to air on July 2. Richman has yet to announce whether or not the show will air at a later date… or at all.

Adam Richman landed a hosting gig in the meantime. According to The Los Angeles Times, Richman will be on Food Fighters which will premiere on NBC tonight at 8 pm EST. The show is a competition with $100,000 up or grabs. Home cooks will face off against professional chefs in the kitchen — family recipes will go up against some of the best professional dishes in the industry — and the winner will walk away with some serious cash.

“‘Food Fighters’ will feature home cooks challenging professional chefs with five of their best recipes. Some of the chefs who will make appearances on the show include the Food Network’s Cat Cora, Michele Ragussis and ‘Top Chef’ alum Marcel Vigneron.”

Adam Richman seems excited for tonight’s premiere — and he should be. As someone in the public eye, making a comment suggesting someone take their own life is never acceptable — and it is hardly funny. Richman could have ruined his chances of being on television altogether — he’s very lucky that didn’t happen — and that he scored this hosting job with a major network.

Will you be watching Food Fighters tonight? Do you think Adam Richman was a good choice to host the show? How do you feel about the comment he made on Twitter? Sound off in the comments below.
