Kanye West Booed Second Consecutive Night At Wireless Festival Saturday, ‘We Want Drake!’ [Video]

It appears the crowd at London’s Wireless Festival was not feeling Kanye West’s speeches and just wanted to hear some music. For the second consecutive night, the crowd booed West while on stage. The first booing occurred on July 4th when Kanye went into a 20-minute long tirade about the fashion industry and discrimination against African American shoppers. According to the Mirror and various videos uploaded to Youtube, Vine and Twitter, West said:

“I’m not going to mention any names but… Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don’t discriminate against me ‘cos I’m a black man making music.”

Kanye continued on with his show after the boos, but that didn’t stop festival goers from giving him a second round of vocal disapproval when he returned July 5 to perform in place of Drake. Drake was unable to make his scheduled appearance at the Wireless Festival when he came down with an illness. Drake released a statement issued in E! News:

“To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me.”

Apparently, West wasn’t able to pull off a deserving performance either. As the Mirror reports, Kanye seemed to have learned nothing from the previous nights booing and took the stage again to perform briefly and then go on another tirade for 15-minutes, this time about how hard he works and his shyness, saying:

“Sometimes it’s hard because I’m too shy to carry off a lot,” Kanye said. “I’m arrogant and shy and a little bit lazy.”

Many fans began chanting “We want Drake!” as West was giving his speech, but it didn’t seem to deter him from continuing on for another 10-minutes before finally singing again. Many festival goers took to Twitter to show their disapproval and post videos of the boos.

Some have questioned how many people were actually booing, but it appears from the videos above the booing was substantial. The videos come from different angles and show some festival goers even leaving the event due to their boredom of the rants.

This isn’t the first time Kanye West has been booed, Kanye West was booed at a Dodgers game last year and booed at Bonnaroo this year.

What do you think of Kanye’s speeches? Should he stick to singing at concerts and nix the speeches, or have Kanye fans come to expect a rant at every concert?
