Alec Baldwin Arrested In NYC [Breaking]
Star Alec Baldwin has reportedly been arrested again in New York City, in an incident that sounds a bit preposterous.
Alec Baldwin has been battling a slew of legal issues and public relations snafus over the last year as media interest in his personal life has ramped up significantly.
Baldwin, who recently married yoga instructor Hilaria Baldwin (nee Thomas), has been in the news lately more for varied kerfuffles than his roles. On top of that, the newlywed star welcomed a child with his young wife… and sparred with an alleged stalker in court.
It seems the 30 Rock actor’s issues aren’t over yet, as today’s run-in with NYPD illustrates. However, while Baldwin reportedly became belligerent when confronted by cops, he wasn’t in the middle of a heist or even a minor quality of life crime.
According to the New York Post, the star was arrested for wrong-way biking. Really.
A source told the paper:
“Alec was riding his bicycle the wrong way on Fifth Avenue this morning and, when he was stopped by police, he didn’t have ID so he was handcuffed and arrested… It is not known where he is now, or if he is still in police custody.”
The hometown Post was scooped by In Touch Weekly, where the story of a really, really lame arrest broke on this slow gossip news day. Per the gossip mag, Baldwin indeed was unable to show his papers when confronted by New York cops:
“He was stopped by officers for riding the wrong way on a street. When the officers asked for ID, he got belligerent because he had none on him… The officers placed him under arrest for disorderly conduct.”

A rep for Baldwin says the star was not “arrested or charged with a crime” and “has been released.” What we really want to know is why Alec Baldwin needs to prove he’s Alec Baldwin, haven’t these cops seen Glengarry Glen Ross?
