‘The Hunger Games’: Berlin Fans Can Be An Extra In ‘Mockingjay’

If you live in Berlin, and you are a fan of The Hunger Games, then you have the opportunity to be an extra for the franchise’s final chapter, Mockingjay, according to a post from casting agency Agentur Filmgesichter.

The agency doesn’t mention The Hunger Games: Mockingjay by name in the post. It just says they are looking for 1,000 extras “for the filming of a major international Hollywood cinema film.” However, Radio Times reports that with the timing and location, it makes sense that it is for the latest Hunger Games.

Male extras between the ages of 18 and 65 of various nationalities are mainly being sought for the battle scenes in The Hunger Games Mockingjay. This includes people of Thai, Indian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese, Arab, southern European, South American, and African descent. Women are allowed to apply, too, as “scattered operations are possible.”

Casting for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay will take place on Saturday, April 26, at the Delphi Film Theatre. Filming will occur at the Tempelhof Airport, which is where the annual indie rock festival is held. The airfield was closed six years ago, but the immigration booths; baggage conveyor belts; and departure boards are still intact.

Those looking to apply should expect to work one to three days, and there is a possibility that some can work more days, if they have the time. The agency requires that all applicants have a “sleek look,” and notes that tattoos, piercings, and various hairstyles are OK.

Applications will be considered for residents living in Berlin and surrounding areas, the post reads. Those from other cities will not be considered for a part in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. Those interested can read the full report here and apply at http://agentur-filmgesichter.de/. If you have already applied with the agency, you don’t need to apply again.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay finished filming in Atlanta a few days ago, according to a recent report from The Inquisitr. Along with Berlin, the crew will also be taking the production to Paris.

The previous installment, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was a massive hit at the box office, taking in more than $424 million in the US and nearly $440 million overseas, according to Box Office Mojo. It was also the most successful film for Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta in the films, as reported by International Business Times.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay is being split into two separate films. The first will release on November 21, 2014, and the second will release on November 20, 2015.
