Lana Del Rey Teases ‘West Coast’ In Vegas, Single Drops Monday

There has been a lot of anticipation building up for the release of Lana Del Rey’s third studio album, Ultraviolence. A recent report from The Inquisitr stated that some fans took to Twitter to express their excitement and pleading Del Rey to release the album’s first single, “West Coast.”

Well, fans can calm down now, as NME.com has announced that Lana Del Rey will release the new single on Monday, April 14, during Fearne Cotton’s Radio 1. But she did give fans a tease of the song at a recent performance at The Chelsea in Las Vegas.

Del Rey debated with her fans on how much of the song she should sing.

“Just up to the chorus? No?” she asked.

Lana Del Rey finally gave in and said she was going to sing “a little bit of the verse without the band.” And many concertgoers whipped out their cell phones and uploaded to videos of the acoustic performance to Instagram and YouTube.

Gigwise.com reported that rumors had circled about “West Coast” being released over the weekend, but those have obviously been debunked now with this new report. But Del Rey has been promoting the new song by uploading its artwork on her Twitter page, and she also shared an image of a billboard that promotes her upcoming record. Those can be found in Los Angeles and New York.

The announcement of “West Coast” sent Lana Del Rey fans to her website, which then crashed because of all the traffic, according to Idolator.

Lana Del Rey is on her way to Coachella for the weekend-long festival’s final day on Sunday, April 13. There is no doubt that fans will ask her to perform “West Coast,” or at least a sample of it like she did at the Vegas show.

Del Rey had mentioned in conversations with fans that Ultraviolence would release on May 1. However an official release date for the album or its track listing has yet to be announced.

Earlier this month, Rolling Stone reported that a Lana Del Rey song called “Meet Me in the Pale Moonlight” appeared on the internet, but she has not confirmed if the song will be on Ultraviolence.

There have been very few details released about Lana Del Rey’s new album, but she did tweet a photo with The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. The tweet read: “Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence.” As of right now, it is unclear about Auerbach’s involvement with the album.
