Taco Bell Customer Belches, Gets Hit With Chair For Bad Manners

A Taco Bell customer who apparently belched without saying “excuse me” was allegedly assaulted by a man at another table for this etiquette violation.

Before you jump to any conclusions, the incident happened in South Carolina rather than in the great state of Florida.

According to the police report, the victim in the Taco Bell incident was sitting in a booth on Sunday eating with a friend when he was confronted by another customer who asked the victim if he had failed to say “excuse me” after burping. The alleged attacker then picked up a chair and struck the victim on the left elbow.

After that, the alleged manners vigilante grabbed the victim, 20, by the throat and tried to head butt him. Fortunately a Taco Bell worker intervened and told the assailant to leave. The unknown man drove off in a white vehicle that may have been a pickup truck, but witnesses were unable to get the license plate number.

The responding police officer observed a minor cut on the victim’s elbow and redness around this throat. The Taco Bell manager told the officer that it was unlikely that surveillance cameras in the eatery captured the incident. As a result, cops in Tega Cay, South Carolina, consider the matter closed unless further leads emerge.

Elsewhere in fast food news on Sunday, a Florida woman apparently in a hurry for a McDonald’s McFlurry allegedly set her boyfriend’s car on fire when he refused to buy her one.

Have you observed or overhead bad manners at Taco Bell or other fast food restaurants? If so, what is the appropriate response, if any?
