Kid Cudi Takes A Jab At Drake In Interview With Arsenio Hall

Hip-hop artist, Kid Cudi, recently took a jab at Canadian recording artist Drake. On March 14, Friday, Kid Cudi appeared on The Arsenio Hall show to promote his newest song entitled Internal Bleeding.

In the interview, Hall asked Kid Cudi what hip-hop means. The artist answered by saying that the “braggadocio, ‘money, cash, hoes’ thing needs to be dead.” He continued on to say that, artists, such as himself, should be able to use music in a positive way.

The artist also said that the theme of music nowadays has been the same for around four decades. He pointed out that artists should use their music to reach millions of people, especially the youth. “All I want to do is help kids not feel alone, and stop kids from committing suicide.” That has been Cudi’s mission statement since he started in the industry.

After that statement, Kid Cudi said that it comes from dealing with suicide for the past five years and thinking that he wanted “to check out.” These feelings, according to him, are the result of kids not having the kind of music that could give them guidance and coach them.

Despite having to deal with suicidal tendencies for years, Kid Cudi said that he is doing well now.

The interview then moved on to the types of cars Kid Cudi has. Hall suggested that if Cudi rapped about the stuff he has, it would make for a “nice lil’ ditty”. The singer said, “There would be no Drake” in reply.

Kid Cudi’s comment is a stab at Drake, as he is basically attributing Drake’s success to rapping about strip clubs, women, and Bentleys.

Hopefully, the little jab won’t be taken by Drake seriously, as he already has a number of feuds under his belt. He has had a face-off with Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, and also had a Twitter clash with Kendrick Lamar.

Kid Cudi also performed Internal Bleeding on Arsenio. The singer released his newest album, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon. Just as Beyoncé did with her album, Cudi released his album on iTunes with just a couple of hours notice.

Aside from his music projects, Kid Cudi has also made his way on to the big screen with the movie Need For Speed. He is also reported to appear in the movie version of the HBO hit Entourage, which is set to hit theaters in 2015.
