Los Angeles Earthquake Shakes Westwood Neighborhood in California

An earthquake of a 4.7 magnitude struck Los Angeles this morning. The United States Geological Survey says the California earthquake was centered 5 miles north to northwest of the Westwood neighborhood.

Firefighters are currently reviewing the area where the Los Angeles earthquake hit to determine damage. So far, no reports have been phoned in by residents. Those living near the Westwood neighborhood are telling local media they felt the strong quake. The Los Angeles is reporting that no known injuries have occurred due to the shaking ground.

The Westwood neighborhood is in the area of UCLA. According to local media, shockwaves from the Los Angeles earthquake were felt within a 1-hour driving distance.
