Sarah Palin Is Starting Her Own Conservative Web Channel

It seems like Sarah Palin doesn’t believe there are enough conservative channels available to the public. Most of the time, conservatives say the only conservative channel available is Fox News. Well Sarah plans on changing that by making a conservative channel of her own!

Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and former vice-president candidate for the Conservative Party, has reportedly signed a deal with Tapp to run a digital video channel titled Rogue TV, as reported by Yahoo News. To further understand what Tapp is, the Capital New York explains it as a company founded by former CNN chief, Jon Klein, and former NBC Universal entertainment executive, Jeff Gaspin. It is a service that will charge subscribers $10 a month, to watch channels on the service. Think of it like a Netflix or Hulu clone.

However, Sarah Palin’s channel was best described as the following:

“Palin’s channel will feature video commentaries from the former Republican vice-presidential candidate, discussing current events and political issues. Think of it as a video version of her Facebook page.”

“It will also have advice and guidance from Palin, such as tips for parents and recipes. There are also tentative plans to have subscribers engage in regular video chats with Palin.”

According to the Huffington Post, Gaspin wanted to come up with channels that were talent-based and that were geared towards the super fan. Apparently, Rogue TV will be a channel catered to the super fans for Sarah Palin. Reviewing the rest of the lineup, there are many other prominent conservative personalities or organizations getting their own channel too. The Blaze TV will be hosted by Glenn Beck. One America News Network will be by the Washington Post. Newsmax TV will be hosted by Newsmax.com. Even Herman Cain gets a channel with Cain TV.

Tapp sounds like a service conservatives would enjoy having, but the description for Rogue TV, hosted by Sarah Palin, is not a very good one. For starters, it has been described as a video version of Sarah Palin’s Facebook page. Right now, Sarah Palin is well-known for updating her social media accounts with her insights. A video version of Sarah explaining her thoughts, probably with other conservative personalities, may be enticing. However, people can watch Sarah do that for free on the Fox Network. People can read Sarah Palin’s insights, for free, on her Facebook page.

Tapp needs to be better pitched if they want to have subscribers. Maybe they need to take a hint from WWE, who knew what they were doing with the WWE Network, as reported here on The Inquisitr. Even featuring someone as recognizable as Sarah Palin, won’t generally be enough to sway the decision to fork over $10 for what is already free somewhere else.
