Couple OD On Heroin At McDonald’s As Kids Play

An Indiana couple were found unresponsive at a McDonald’s play area. After a closer look, it was found out the couple had overdosed on heroin.

According to the Washington Post, the fire department in Green Township, just west of Cincinnati, responded to a call on Sunday about two unresponsive adults in a McDonald’s indoor play area. Authorities say one was unconscious and not breathing; the other was conscious but unresponsive. They recovered after emergency treatment for “life-threatening overdoses” of heroin.

Now the couple, Tamica Lynn Jeffers, 33, and Robert Paul Palmer, 37, of Dillsboro, Indiana, are held at the Hamilton County jail on charges for endangering their two children, a 5-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy. Jeffers is being held on a $6,000 bond. Palmer was set a $10,000 bond. Court records show that the couple has pleaded not guilty.

Palmer had a brief court appearance on Thursday, March 13. Municipal Court Judge Megan Shanahan ordered him to stay away from the two children. His relationship to them wasn’t clear, neither shared his last name, according to court records, by what is written in the Indy Star.

As for the children, Indiana’s children’s service workers were called Sunday, according to a spokesman for Hamilton County Job and Family Services. Also, the Green Township Fire & EMS chief, Doug Witsken said he couldn’t release any details of Sunday’s emergency run other than what is in public records.

As for McDonald’s themselves, they didn’t respond immediately to the situation or request to comment whatsoever. It might be because as of late, the famous fast-food restaurant has been having issues of their own. Just last week, The Inquisitr reported the chain is now facing a lawsuit of $1.5 million over a single napkin. Also, earlier this week, McDonald’s was under fire again as many news sites, including a report here on The Inquisitr, wrote about how an elderly couple was kicked out of one of their restaurants because their “half-hour was up”.

Though the contents of this report are still despicably tragic, at least McDonald’s is not the ones at fault, for the situation that has taken place involving the couple overdosing.
