J.K. Rowling Buys $1.3 Million Home, Destroys It To Put In Garden

J.K. Rowling is so rich from her creation of the Harry Potter books, movies and merchandise that she recently purchased a $1.3 million home next to her $3.3 million mansion just so she could tear it down.

Rowling wanted to put in a garden where the “cheaper” home was residing and after purchasing the property she received permission from the city council to raze the house and put in her dream garden.

With a personal net worth estimated at $867 million the cost was just a drop in the bucket and in all fairness to Rowling she is also planning to build a stone hut-style summer house on the property that will resemble the hut that Harry Potter actor Hagrid lives in.
