Bruno Mars Plays It Cool Ahead Of The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Bruno Mars isn’t letting nerves get the better of him ahead of his stint at the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show.

While a lesser musician might have a wicked case of stage fright right about now, Mars doesn’t seem overly stressed about the upcoming performance. The only thing he wants to do is give everyone at good show. As long as that happens, chances are the singer will walk away from the experience a very happy man.

“I’m gonna give it all I got. Whatever happens, happens. I ain’t scared if that’s what you think. I want the world to watch. It’s only a couple days away,” Bruno Mars explained during a press conference earlier this week.

If you’re going into the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show hoping for some over-the-top theatrics, then you might need to adjust your expectations a tad. According to Mars, he doesn’t plan to do anything other than perform good music with his band.

“I don’t do trapeze. If you come to our shows, it’s just the band up there with songs and instruments. And I’m hoping that’s enough,” Mars joked.

While he won’t have any trapeze artists on-display, the singer will join the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a song or two during the upcoming halftime show. Mars didn’t say how he will blend their iconic sound with his own, though the singer said that he does enjoy their music.

“We love to raise the stakes. When the NFL said, ‘you can have another artist there with you,’ the first band I thought of was Red Hot Chili Peppers. They’re a soulful band, and soulful people, too. [RHCP bassist] Flea is so passionate about music. I want to surround myself with guys like that forever,” he added.

Although following up Beyonce’s amazing performance during last year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show is probably a little intimidating, Bruno Mars isn’t sweating these high expectations at the moment. However, The Inquisitr previously reported that he was a little concerned about performing in freezing temperatures.

“Everyone’s putting the fear of God in me like there’s going to be a blizzard. I’m going to wear a beekeeper suit, I don’t know. I’m not going to know until I get there… I’m not trying to hype myself up too much. I know it’s going to be cold and I just got to face it,” he said.
