The Gears of War 3 special editions get even more ridiculous

Ridiculous in a good way … I think.

Yes, while we’ve already gazed upon the ‘Gears of War 3 Special Edition,’ Epic Games has now announced the ‘Limited Edition’ ($160) and ‘Epic Edition’ ($230) (!!!!!) will contain the above: a full-sized replica of the Retro Lancer, a prominent weapon in the game.

The Lancer replica was modelled from Epic’s in-game 3D assets, and comes in at a whopping three and a half feet. Egads. It’s hand-painted, and squeezing the trigger produces a machine gun sound effect that I guarantee will sound hilariously weedy compared to how this thing looks.

If you want the Lancer without the game, you big kid, you can purchase it here for $99 from September 13.
