Bothell High School Cheerleaders Parents Sue over Nude Photographs
The parents of two cheerleaders at Bothell High School in Washington State are suing the local school district for mishandling nude photographs of their daughters.
Where the case gets weird is where the photos came from: the cheerleaders took racy cellphone photos of themselves and then “accidentally” sent them to other students, including members of the football team. The school found out and suspended the kids.
The school district is getting sued because the parents claim they were not properly notified of the incident that led to the cheerleaders suspension from the cheer squad. The suit also claims that school administrators violated the girls’ due process rights, that the school needlessly shared the photos with other school staff members, and that the school failed to promptly report the matter to police as possible child pornography.
Parental responsibility, you’ve got to love it.
