Nymphomaniac Clips Released, Showing More Of Controversial Sex Drama

Nymphomaniac clips were released to the internet this week, giving anxious fans a new glimpse of Lars Von Trier’s racy movie.

The sex drama has been teasing viewers with a new clip released every month, one from each of the movie’s eight chapters. The latest one, which shows a section of “Chapter 6: The Eastern and Western Church (The Silent Duck)” hit the web this week via Vulture.

The Nymphomaniac clip shows a sex game between Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jamie Bell, the star of Billy Elliot.

The movie is about a sex addict named Joe (Gainsbourg) who connects with a man who saved her after she was left a beaten and bloody mess on a street.

Here is the official synopsis:

“Nymphomaniac is the wild and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe. On a cold winter’s evening the old, charming bachelor, Seligman, finds Joe beaten up in an alleyway. He brings her home to his flat where he tends to her wounds while asking her about her life. He listens intently as Joe over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.”

Lars Von Trier has been able to build up anticipation for the racy movie thanks to regular releases of clips, including shocking first trailer that contains some very adult scenes.

The film has also generated controversy for from its star, Shia LeBouef, who plays Jerome, and will appear in unsimulated sex scenes.

It’s unclear what the film will look like when it hits theaters. Producer Peter Aalbaek Jensen said last month that Lars Von Trier turned in a five-and-a-half hour cut of the film, who will begrudgingly cut it down.

“The short version is against Lars’ own will, but he accepts it because he understands market mechanisms… You cannot make a film for more than 60 million kroners (about $11 million) that is so lengthy,” Jensen said. “Five and a half hour is so extreme that it reduces market value so radically that investors would have felt they had bought a pig in a poke.”

The final cut of Nymphomaniac is expected to be around four hours.
