Emma Watson, the actress who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movie series has transferred out of Brown University after three semesters of taunting from her fellow classmates.
Reports have circulated around the web that Watson was repeatedly taunted by her classmates, typically using her Harry Potter image. For example when Watson would get a question right her classmates would shout out “3 Points to Gryffindor” referring to the wizard house her character resides in.
On Saturday Vanessa Davies said Emma was pulling out of the school to focus on her burgeoning fashion career, contract with Burberry and her blossoming acting career.
While the rumors circle Davies says that Watson, “has absolutely loved her time at Brown” and has made some great friends.
Hmmm…to focus on a multi-multi-million dollar a year acting and fashion career or Brown University, I would also choose her most recent path.
However, Watson isn’t giving up on college, posting on her Facebook page:
“I will still be working towards my degree… it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought” While she added, “As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible.”
There’s a good chance Watson will end up at a New York University since she is already researching school in that area, although no final decision has been made at this time.
