Morgan Freeman Reads Ylvis’ ‘The Fox’ [Video]

Morgan Freeman has officially read Ylvis’ “The Fox” lyrics, and when viral phenomena collide in such a manner — well, it’s internet newsworthy.

In fact, after Morgan Freeman’s “The Fox” rendition, the star himself even highlights the internet friendliness of what just occurred, remarking that if the clip doesn’t go viral, “he’s going after” the interviewer.

It wasn’t just Freeman in on the gig, as Kevin Kline did a spoken-acted version of One Direction’s “Best Song Ever.” Robert DeNiro too got some pop culture action, with a rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” in the above clip. And Michael Douglas tries on the Ark Music video hit “Chinese Food” during the sit-down.

The amusing clip comes to us via Screen Junkies, a YouTube channel whose interviewer was lucky enough to sit down with the stars of Last Vegas, and the blog explains:

“Turns out that Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Michael Douglas, and Kevin Kline — the Mt. Rushmore of acting — will do pretty much anything you ask. And so, with Last Vegas in theaters this weekend and because the movie is about recapturing youth, we thought we’d have the patriarchs of cinema read lyrics from some of the most popular young musical artists of today… We can’t believe we actually got them to do this. Everybody go see Last Vegas like nine times this weekend!”

Among the lyrics to “The Fox” recited by Freeman are the first, which are:

“Dog goes woof, cat goes meow, bird goes tweet, and mouse goes squeak. Cow goes moo, frog goes croak and the elephant goes toot, ducks say quack and fish go blub and the seal goes ow ow ow… But there’s one sound that no one knows — what does the fox say? Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding!”

Morgan Freeman has been in the news lately, as the star sat down earlier this week to discuss Last Vegas when he was asked about his feelings on the Tea Party.

In part, Freeman said:

“Obama was legitimately elected president. If you don’t like that, fine, either move out, or make your point and get yourself elected, but don’t tear the country apart! That’s not going to get you anywhere.”

The star also mused:

“The lengths that people will go to to show their prejudices! You see some of these signs that say, “TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK!” What the f*ck is that? Whose country are you talking about? They are being pushed to the side, which is a good thing for them to realize: you don’t have the power you think you have in this country.”
