The above motivational poster is doing the rounds after the “surprise” appearance of Risk Astley singing the ultimate Rickroll at the Macy’s Thanks Giving Parade yesterday.

If you haven’t seen it yet, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade Rick Astley Rickroll as follows. It’s a good laugh, but you can sort of understand the sentiments: its no longer an insider joke when the half of America is in on it during the biggest parade of the year.

What do you think: has the Cartoon Network killed Rickrolling?

  1. I'm not blaming Cartoon Network for anything. What's the life expectancy on these things supposed to be, and who really cares if it's dead in the first place? If Cartoon Network didn't take it mainstream, somebody else would have soon enough.

  2. I remember watching that and being utterly confused. Now I get it xD

  3. No, I think the CN has really helped the rickrolling movement. It's not about being cryptic so much as it's about taking people by surprise and getting their attention. This event will get more people to look up rickrolling and find out what it's all about. If anything, the Cartoon Network hurt Scientology.
