You’ll find yourself counting the days until you can buy your ticket on October 29, almost an entire month before the movie is released in theaters November 21.
This next installment of The Hunger Games takes place right where Catching Fire left us hanging in the balance. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is just that — part one of the book that is being divided into two films, according to Nova . Mockingjay Part 2 is set to release in November 2015.
So, what can fans expect in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 ? Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) will be seen in all her toughness as she has her mind set on rescuing Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) who was captured by the Capital. Katniss confronts Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and President Coin (Julianne Moore) demanding, “You will rescue Peeta at the earliest opportunity, or you will find another Mockingjay,” as reported by Buzz Feed .
What Katniss doesn’t know is that Peeta, after being captured, is now forced to be a mouthpiece for President Snow (Donald Sutherland), as revealed by Yahoo! News . Panem President Snow persists in his warnings to Katniss and all of Panem stating, “It’s the things we love most that destroy us.”
Snow is determined to inform Panem that any resistance against the Capitol will be a deadly end to the rebels, and has brainwashed Peetah to help him in this plight. Fans will se quite a spin on Peetah’s character.
BuzzFeed reports that the love triangle is still very much alive as we see Katnisss with her longtime love interest Gale (Liam Hemsworth) as they fight side by side and Katniss sees first hand the horror of war — one she started though unintentional.
The fighting scenes are obviously more intense than ones we’ve seen in previous films, and the level of emotions are rising. Katniss becomes an even stronger woman, and leader, with better weapons to boot, as we see her shoot down an enemy with a powerful fire bow.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is certainly a blockbuster film no one will want to miss.
