WWE Rumor: The Undertaker Possibly Returning At ‘WWE Battleground’ This Sunday

During this part of the WWE season, huge rumors begin to swirl about big returns — especially right before SummerSlam , something big usually takes place. Take the WWE NXT Divas Invasion, for example — it swerved the WWE fans and provided everyone with a moment they’ll never forget. The thing with that rumor was that it had credence and logic behind it.

This next rumor is one that should be taken with a grain of salt for many reasons. One, it involves a huge WWE superstar that is reportedly coming back to television soon. Second, it doesn’t make much sense to execute on WWE’s end.

According to Reddit user “Falconarrow,” the Undertaker is rumored to make his return to the WWE at Battleground this Sunday.

“I told you all that you needed to be talking about Battleground more. Did you really think that was because of a HHH swerve job?

He’s back.”

And he followed that up with this comment when pressed more.

“No not him. The guy with the coffins.”

That is what Falconarrow posted on the message board. Just to give the Reddit user legitimacy, he was correct on Ryback winning the Intercontinental Championship, the NXT Divas Invasion, and Samoa Joe’s debut in WWE NXT. So, Falconarrow carries credibility.

Now, on to the heartbreak for many WWE fans that are reading this post. There’s a 99 percent chance that this doesn’t happen. A return to feud with Seth Rollins or Brock Lesnar doesn’t make sense. As for Lesnar, Undertaker would not come back and work as a villain. He hasn’t been a heel for nearly 10 years, and won’t start now.

Plus, Brock Lesnar is the WWE’s biggest babyface at the moment. His face run is still fresh, too. WWE, presumably, wouldn’t be willing to change that up already. Second, Seth Rollins should retain his WWE championship on Sunday. The only way he loses is if Undertaker interferes, but why would that happen?

The Undertaker isn’t even confirmed for WrestleMania 32 . Along the way, rumors of his involvement will always come, and then they’ll dissipate with this health and WWE’s booking plans. On a side note, the Undertaker does look like he’s in great shape .

Regardless, a WWE return for the Undertaker at Battleground seems a bit far-fetched for the time being. The report is above is strictly a rumor, so don’t believe anything until the night of WWE Battleground. If he does return, will it be to avenge his brother, Kane’s, broken ankle? That would lead to a SummerSlam match with Brock Lesnar. Is that what is best for business?
