WWE legend Chris Jericho returned to WWE pay-per-view this past Sunday night for the first time in a year, as he turned out to be Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns’ mystery partner against the Wyatt Family.

Jericho recently talked about his return at Night of Champions on his podcast — Talk is Jericho — and he responded to the fans who are saying that he’s just coming back to lose, and put over WWE’s young talent, saying that the fans who are criticizing him “don’t know s**t.”

“To the people saying ‘maybe it was a one time deal, so Jericho could come back and job to the new guys because that’s all that he does,’ to those people, you don’t know s**t! Storytelling, that’s what we do here in the WWE and on Talk is Jericho.”

After the six-man tag-team match was over, Jericho was seen storming out of the ring, bumping into Dean Ambrose on his way out. Several people believed that Ambrose would address his brief confrontation with Jericho the next night on RAW , and the two of them would begin their feud there. But that did’t end up happening, and it probably won’t happen any time soon.

Chris Jericho’s band — Fozzy — is scheduled to begin touring at the end of next month, and the tour will end around the end of the year. So, Jericho clearly won’t be available to work a program on WWE television until early next year, leading into WrestleMania 32 .

According to the Wrestling Observer , WWE may be looking to start the Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose feud early next year, and the feud will carry on until WrestleMania 32 in April.

In the past, Jericho has said that he doesn’t want to come back to WWE television or wrestle at WrestleMania unless WWE has a “Chris Jericho-worthy” opponent lined up for him. Jericho has also said that Dean Ambrose is one of the few guys that he would love to come back and work with.

Jericho hasn’t wrestled at a WrestleMania since 2013, where he ended up losing to Fandango, which Jericho now admits wasn’t something that he should have done. Since then, Jericho has been very selective about who he works with on WWE television, because he doesn’t want to get “Fandango’d” again.

As of right now, Jericho is only scheduled to make one more WWE appearance, and that will be at Madison Square Garden on October 3. His opponent for that show is still unknown.
