2015 has been a rough year for Roman Reigns. He was originally supposed to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 , and become the new WWE world heavyweight champion. More importantly, that moment was supposed to be the start of the Roman Reigns era in WWE, as he was going to be the new face of the company.
However, due to fans deciding not to accept Reigns as WWE’s new top guy, the company was forced into changing their plans, and Seth Rollins ended up winning the WWE title , pinning Roman Reigns in the process.
We’re about six months removed from WrestleMania 31 , and things don’t seem to be getting better for Reigns, which is partially due to how WWE is booking him.
Since Reigns failed to win the WWE world title at WrestleMania 31 , he’s failed in almost every big match he’s been in. WWE may be hoping the losses will get him sympathy, and turn those boos into cheers.
WWE’s booking of Reigns has been a bit counterproductive over the last six months. He’s also been in a program with the Wyatt Family since the middle of the summer, which many fans are hoping will end sometime soon. Another thing the fans are clamoring for, including WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, is a Roman Reigns heel turn.
When asked about Roman Reigns on Twitter , Ross said he’s a huge fan of Reigns, and that the WWE audience needs to be patient with him while he grows as an in-ring performer. Ross also added that he would like to see Reigns turn heel at some point in the near future.

Ross isn’t the only WWE legend who believes Reigns should be a heel. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin agrees with him, saying Reigns is likely to be hated by the WWE audience before he’s loved by them. As such, WWE should let him be a full-fledged heel.
Back at Money in the Bank , most thought Reigns would win the briefcase and cash-in later that night when his buddy Dean Ambrose won the WWE championship, which would make his heel turn official. However, both Reigns and Ambrose failed to win that night.
As of this writing, Vince McMahon is still against turning Reigns, as he is dead-set on making Reigns the company’s top babyface and he has stated turning Reigns would put his future as WWE’s top good guy in jeopardy.
