WWE SummerSlam is being marketed as showcasing matches too big for WrestleMania. The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar will finally have their highly-anticipated rematch in the main event. On WWE Raw tonight, both men will encounter one another for the last time before their giant match.

When Paul Heyman pointed out that this match was too big for WrestleMania, his illustrious words made sense once again. The epic brawl between Lesnar and Undertaker made sense, but not only that, it built this aura around the fight that has a “once in a lifetime” feel to it even though it isn’t.

To add onto this great rivalry, John Cena and Seth Rollins will wrestle in a “Winner-Take-All” match for the United States championship and WWE title. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are wrestling Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. Each women’s stable is taking part in an Elimination Tag-Team match. Lastly, Kevin Owens and Cesaro will likely tear the house down.

Now, WWE SummerSlam is four hours long this year. Sting will not be on the card. Therefore, another big attraction may be needed. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, rumors of the Rock coming back at SummerSlam are starting to gain traction. This all began when Roman Reigns teased his return in an interview.

For the very latest on the Rock’s rumored return at WWE SummerSlam, Cageside Seats and Dave Meltzer are reporting that if he does, it could lead to a huge match at WrestleMania 32.

At the very least it’s been discussed but it’s not clear if he’s going to be there for sure or not. If he does, Meltzer speculates that it could be to set up a match with Triple H at WrestleMania next year.

Melter is well-respected in the wrestling community, so to is his word about rumors and if they are worth following or not. Rock’s involvement at SummerSlam would definitely not be in a wrestling capacity. The last time he was in a WWE ring was at WrestleMania 31. He and Ronda Rousey confronted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Needless to say, that segment brought in more than just the wrestling demographic. Rousey is arguably the most-dominant and popular female athlete in the world. Along with the Rock, it was pure genius by the WWE. Due to her contract with the UFC, Rousey won’t be at SummerSlam. The Rock can do one thing, and that’s exactly what Meltzer alluded to. Having him confront Triple H and set up a big match down the road might be best for business.
