Since his retirement from in-ring competition, Mick Foley has devoted most of his time to writing and, of late, doing comedy shows. It appears that his comedy routine will soon get a boost in visibility, as Foley is reportedly bringing his stand-up comedy to the WWE Network.

Foley started doing comedy over four years ago, and he is currently in the midst of a world tour. Foley’s official website contains a description of the show he is presenting on this tour.

“WWE Hall of Famer and New York Times best-selling author, Mick Foley, is one of pro wrestling’s greatest storytellers and now, you can catch his acclaimed live show on his 2015 World Tour!

Mick’s live show features previously untold stories and anecdotes from the Hardcore Legend’s life in and out of the ring as well as an interactive Q & A session and ‘meet and greet’ opportunity”

Foley’s April 24 show is scheduled to be recorded for broadcast on the WWE Network. Mick’s show that night takes place at Full Sail University in Orlando, and it is scheduled to occur following the NXT tapings that evening. There is currently no word on when the Foley show, titled Cheap Pops , will air on the Network.

WWE announced plans for several new programs on the WWE Network during their post- WrestleMania conference call on Monday, March 30. New shows that were announced at that time included: Camp WWE (late 2015), Served (May), Diva Search (Fall 2015), WWE Too Hot For TV (April), Live With Chris Jericho (now airing), Unfiltered: With Renee Young (May), Culture Shock: With Corey Graves (May), and WWE The List (June).

The deal with Mick Foley must have been very recently made, as WWE surely would have promoted it at the time of their March 3o conference call if a contract been in place. However, with the Foley show being taped at the same location that WWE tapes NXT, it won’t be hard for WWE to get the equipment and staff in place to tape the Foley show in under two weeks.

Foley’s 2015 comedy tour kicks off tonight in Calgary, Alberta. During Mick’s tour last year, Justin LaBar of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review wrote that Foley’s show is “a cross between a traditional comedy set and a wrestling shoot interview.” LaBar went on to write “if he (Foley) comes to a town near you and you like wrestling, it’s an hour and a half you won’t regret.”

It remains to be seen how the Mick Foley comedy show is received on the WWE Network, but a successful showing will almost certainly lead to more specials in the future.

This isn’t the first time that Foley’s comedy has been broadcast on television. Mick had a show broadcast on AXS TV last year .
