World’s Tallest Mohawk Takes A Walk Through Washington Park

Kazuhiro Watanabe isn’t the tallest person in the world but, if you add in the 3-foot-8.6 inch mohawk into the mix, well, then it’s another story. The 40-year-old fashion designer has the world’s tallest mohawk.

World record holder, like Watanabe have been traveling the globe to promote the new edition of the Guinness Book of World Records . Wantanabe and the world’s tallest mohawk were in Washington Square in New York City today to promote the new book.

According to Yahoo! , the fashion designer has been growing his hair out for 15 years. It takes him about two hours, a can of gel, and three cans of hairspray to sculpt his extreme hairdo.

So, why would anyone want a 3 foot 8.6 inch mohawk? Watanabe said that he grew out his mohawk to rebel against Japan’s conservative society. He has held the record since 2011.

Watanabe isn’t the only world record holder traveling the globe to promote the latest edition of the Guinness Book Of World Records . The world’s shortest woman and the world’s shortest man recently posed for the cover of the new edition. Jyoti Amge, the shortest women in the world, is currently on tour to promote the new book.

The 2013 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records hits store shelves today.
