Windows 8 Does Nothing But Confuse First Time Users [Video Proof]

Microsoft Windows 8 will debut to the masses on October 26 and if Chris Pirillo’s video is able to forecast the future it won’t be a good experience for millions of sure to be confused Microsoft users.

While the Windows 8 OS offers vibrant and colorful tiles for launching applications, it also offers a setup that makes even some of the most basic tasks hard to find and execute.

Pirillo recent took to the streets and asked everyday users to sample the Windows 8 OS. Not surprisingly those individuals who tested the system for the first time couldn’t find applications, were confused by the lack of a start button, and in general seemed flustered by the complete redesign of the Windows OS system.

In one case a Systems Administrator who had not yet encountered Windows 8 couldn’t figure out how it worked. That employee quickly pointed out that her company would need to invest significantly in training before it could consider the jump to Windows 8.

As I have previously mentioned in prior articles the Windows 8 OS has been built around an emphasis on tablet and other touchscreen devices with its main focus centering on consumer use. Many early beta users have complained that the Windows 8 OS when used on non-touchscreen devices is clunky and at times outright confusing.

Among the comments Chris Pirillo received:

“Why is this not like other computers?” and “That’s the most confusing Windows I’ve ever been on”

One tester did have a positive comment, even if it was slightly backhanded:

“I like the pretty icons they have on here. That’s about it.”
