Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson used to have a close friendship but now, the Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars are estranged and a future reunion seems unreachable.
During a new interview, Tamra Judge opened up about the ongoing tension between herself and Vicki Gunvalson, revealing that her co-star and former friend has done “too much damage” to their friendship to make way for a reconciliation.
“[Vicki Gunvalson] has no boundaries and so that’s where you’re like, ‘Is that the kind of friend I want?’” Tamra Judge asked People magazine on July 10.
Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson were once the best of friends but things between them took a turn for the worse during The Real Housewives of Orange County when Gunvalson’s then-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, claimed to be suffering from cancer. As fans of the series will recall, several members of the cast raised questions about Ayers’ claims and ultimately, Ayers admitted to altering medical documents.
Because Vicki Gunvalson stood by Brooks Ayers throughout his questionable cancer claims, many of her co-stars turned their backs on her and Judge was one of them. However, it wasn’t just the drama surrounding Brooks’ alleged heath crisis that tore them apart. It was also the questions posed about her husband Eddie Judge’s sexuality.
“My marriage is so sacred to me… For Vicki to insult my marriage like that like it’s a fraud, that’s what hurt me,” Tamra Judge explained.
Tamra Judge went on to reveal that while she tried her hardest to make things work between herself and Gunvalson, Gunvalson simply went too “low” with her digs. As Judge explained, it’s one thing to go after someone’s outfit or the way they look but one’s marriage should be off-limits.
Tamra Judge and Eddie Judge tied the knot in June 2013 and months later, their wedding was featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County ‘s spinoff series Tamra’s OC Wedding .
